Good Christmas

Hi We've had a great Christmas lots of family here and my little neice who's 4  thinks she's in Sugar Cubes heaven. It's lovely to see how important the characters are to that age as my daughters are now true teenagers, boys and makeup, and ponies are less important though I've started to ride our last remaining pony and it's great, means we can keep her a bit longer. I was worried I would be too big but the farrier told me I would be fine and Diamond seems to think so too. We made her a Pony mag Christmas cake which was in their mag a few year's ago. You get a small round loaf, hollow it out and cut up some carrots and apples, mix them with some of their food, put it all back in the loaf with the lid on she loved it, she ate all the bread first.

Christmas Orders

I'm getting quite excited about Christmas now, all my kids have broken up and the house is decorated. All our orders have now gone out 1st class and are in the hands of Royal Mail. So I really hope everyone gets their orders for Christmas. It has been fun printing them and packing them up to send out. Now I must get stuck into some designing for next years new prints.

Last post

Hi we are still posting out, and touch wood at the moment the 1st class post isn't taking very long.

If anyone still wants to place an order, today would be good so it can be on it's way tomorrow at the latest.

We will still be posting out over the holidays but obviously not in time for Christmas.

December

It's the 1st of December, I love Christmas, all the decorations, even the really tacky over the top ones on houses. I love the cheerfulness of all the colours. 

It's been really cold here and I've been getting our pony in at night, she's been practically racing in, but I think that's more for her food than to get out of the cold. 

Things have been getting busy at Sugar Cubes and the packages going out look so nice. It's so personal to me as I've designed them all and do a lot of the printing so knowing my designs have been chosen by and for somebody for Christmas is a really nice feeling. We all love the diamante it really is very sparkly, and looks great on the tops and the bags. 

Little Treats

The Christmas lights have gone up in Bridgnorth today. Although I'm still not feeling very Christmasy I love the lights, the town looks so pretty. 

We have some great little presents and stocking fillers in our jewellery selection. Perfect for thankyous for all the little helpers down the yard or presents for school friends. 

Our little coloured horse shoe earrings are so sweet you don't even have to be horse mad to love these. All the Sugar Cubes ponies come as charms to collect to clip onto the horse shoe bracelet and we have a couple of 3 pony combinations to get you started.

I'm really pleased with my new jumping pony necklace I was so excited to see the 1st sample and pleased that all the detail in the drawing was still there. It's quite different and the cut out gate gives it a light look. It comes in a little blue box and costs £7.99

Hi viz

Hi Viz clothing is important this time of year and our reflective hoodies are the coolest around,

they come in fuscia and navy with a trendy neon print on the front and a reflective version on the back. Great for being seen, and being seen in! credibility wise they won't let them down and you'll be in the good books.

Colouring in pony pics

I always used to have to draw pics for my kids and their friends to colour in. It used to keep them occupied for a while, which was nice! On the website there are lots of things to see and read for pony loving girls including some colouring in pictures. They are free to download and print off, and the great thing is you can print them as many times as they want. It's definately worth exploring the webmag and features part of the site. Go and have a look.

Gorgeous diamante

This really is our best diamante pony head, it seems to be a real winner on bags and tops. It's made from tiny little coloured crystals and the quality is great. It's very special on the pink but really shows up great on the black, very twinkly.

NEW Reflective Bags

We have put the reflective print on a bac pac, a gym bag and a school bag so when they are walking back from school in the bad light they can be seen. In normal light the print is quite subtle in a silvery grey transfer but when the car lights hits it WOW it's really bright! 

Horse Hoodies

The Waterbaby hoodie print was inspired by photos in books of the Camargue horses which live in the Rhone delta in the south of France. In the summer we had a big family holiday in the south of France and I took a day out with my mum to visit the area. I'm afraid we didn't see any wild horses running through the sea, as in the summer they're mostly waiting to give visitors a ride but they're still beautiful horses and the area was very peaceful and flat. The little town right down the end had more of a Spanish feel. We were there early in the morning as the market was going up, before the day had started to get going and before it got hot. We do the hoodie in 3 different colours navy, fuscia or graphite all with a pink print. 

Sugar Cubes Snuggle Sac

If there's anyone out there reading my blog and interested in buying a Sugar Cubes Snuggle Sac as a Christmas present, I would strongly recomend buying it sooner rather than later. They are selling really well and a lady who bought one today said they'd sold out on another site. They are made from a gorgous pink fleece and make great presents for girls up to about 11-12 because of the length. Perfect for sleepovers or snuggling up by the telly. Definately puts you ahead in the

Best horsey top

Well I can't say it's my favourite but I have printed so many this week it's definately grown on me. The Wanted purple hoodie and pink T seems to be a favourite choice this week. 

The Wanted text is cut out in flock and heat transfered onto the T or the Hoodie and the galloping bay pony is a puff print, so it looks as if it's been embossed. It really does look gorgeous when it's all wrapped up in it's clear bag, yes I know I'm getting boring talking about this top but I feel quite proud when I see my drawing transferred to a top which has been chosen and bought by somebody. Thankyou 

Perfect little presents

Whether it's finding presents for school friends, a little thankyou 

for the girls that work at the stables or stocking filler treats,

Perfect little coloured horseshoe earrings in pastel blue or baby pink make a great little present in their pretty blue box with a pink picture of Obi on the top.

our pony

I love our pony she's got a real attitude. I was a bit later than usual to feed her tonight and she's there waiting in the dark, watching from her field. She knows I'm coming, she heard the car go over the cattle grid. Then the security light has gone on at the stable where I make up her food, she knows all the timing. Then as you approach with her bucket of food, the food she's been waiting for all afternoon, she loves her food. (Talk about cupboard love) she lets out a "it's about time neigh" and as I open the gate into her field, she turns round and trots off in the opposite direction. She does a big circle around her field as if she really isn't bothered then comes straight for it, head down and in. Funny girl!  

Personalisation

Personalising a bag is a great way of making it special 

and kids love it. It's also pretty practical, great for school,

PE kits and swimming. 

We put names on wallets, lunch bags and gym bags.

The pony charms

We have all 12 ponies as charms to collect and clip onto the horse shoe bracelet. The original idea was that they could be collected from the local Equestrian shop or Riding school each week, but as we have become more our own retailer I'm afraid that doesn't really work because of the P&P unless you buy them all as a parent and then give them out as treats. 

We had a customer who bought them all to give out from the tooth fairy and another who was putting them into an advent calender, we thought they were gorgeous ideas. We do, do special offers on the pony charm bracelets on the run up to Christmas so check out the site for these.

BE SEEN

Now the evenings are getting dark so quickly, it's so important for the kids to be seen, especialy near traffic. Sugar Cubes fans James and Alice wrote letters to ask... please could we do a bright top which was cool enough for them to wear. We designed a trendy "I love my pony" symbol print

and put it on our favourite hoodies, NEON on the front REFLECTIVE on the back, and wow that reflective really lights up. Their mum was really pleased as she doesn't have to argue with them anymore to wear these bright tops. 

Obi for November

Obi is one of the 12 Sugar Cubes ponies. He is a 6 year old dappled grey welsh mountain pony who loves to gallop on the beach. He is featured on T's, hoodies and bags, and new this Autumn is a little pair of Obi earrings.
